Shawna May, Property Manager
Employed since 2015
Shawna has been a valued part of Wyandot Senior Village since 2015 and stepped into the role of Property Manager in 2017. She truly enjoys building relationships with the tenants and takes pride in creating a welcoming and supportive environment for the residents she serves. She hopes to continue serving the Wyandot Senior Village community for many years to come.
A lifelong resident of Wyandot County, Shawna was raised in Carey, Ohio, where she still resides today with her husband. Together, they have 4 children and 4 grandsons who keep life full and rewarding.
Outside of work, Shawna enjoys tending to her flowers, playing cards, and spending cherished time with her family.

Doug is a life long resident of Upper Sandusky with many years of maintenance and plumbing experience. When he’s not working, his wife and him enjoy traveling to watch the many events and activities of his grandchildren and great grandchildren, fishing and spending time with his family.
THE BOARD
The Board of Directors at Wyandot Senior Village, a nonprofit dedicated to providing low-income housing for the disabled and for seniors, plays a crucial role in steering the organization's mission and overseeing its operations. Comprised of experienced professionals and community leaders, the board sets strategic goals, establishes policies, and ensures the organization adheres to its mission of serving the senior community with dignity and care. They actively engage in financial management and program development to support the residents' needs, maintain the quality of housing, and foster a supportive environment. Additionally, the board members provide guidance, advocacy, and oversight to guarantee the effective management of resources, sustainability, and the fulfillment of Wyandot Senior Village's commitment to its residents and the community at large.

Mindy Kurtz, RN MDS RAC-CTA, DNS, - President
Board Member since 2019
Mindy is a Director of Clinical and Quality Analytics with United Church Homes and joined the Board in 2019. With 22+ years of experience in long term care and currently a part of the UCH corporate clinical management/leadership. She is an active educator/ presenter on quality metrics within long term care. Mindy grew up in Carey, Ohio to which she currently resides with her husband and step-daughter. She enjoys spending free time with her family and beloved dogs.
Deana Bay - Vice President
Board Member since 2024
Deana is a lifelong resident of Wyandot County and has dedicated her entire professional career to the healthcare field. A licensed social worker in Upper Sandusky since 1999, she currently serves as the Director of Social Services at Vancrest of Upper Sandusky, where she continues her passion for caring for and supporting others. Outside of work, Deana enjoys spending quality time with her family and soaking up the sunshine whenever she can be outdoors.
Marge Sink, Secretary
Member since 2016
Marge is an Upper Sandusky native and a retired Licensed Social Worker with more than 38 years dedicated to geriatric care. “Serving on the Board of Directors allows me to continue this passion.” She also serves on the Board of Trustees for the Wyandot Council on Aging and remains deeply passionate about serving the community.
In her free time, Marge enjoys reading, needlework, and cherished family time with her 2 sons, 4 granddaughters, 2 great grandsons, and 1 great granddaughter, with another great grandchild arriving in October 2026.

Todd Leightey, Treasurer
Member since 2009
Todd is a Financial Advisor for Northwestern Mutual and operates an office in this great community of Upper Sandusky. When he’s not serving the needs of his clients or tending to the board, his wife and him keep busy by attending all of activities in which their son and daughter participate. When the four of them get time away they like to boat, travel and eat.
Pat Denney
Board Member since 2016
Pat has been on Board of Directors at Wyandot Senior Village for 7+ years and served as Vice President for 2 years. He’s been active in activities around WSV regarding landscaping and upkeep.
Pat served 4 years in the Air Force loading cargo on aircraft and assisting passenger service personnel. He served on the Fantasy of Lights Board for several years. Pat resides in Upper Sandusky with his wife Marty and dog Angel. He has a daughter Danette, a son Raymond and 2 stepsons Jeremy and Jason Wolford. He has been a long time member of First Lutheran Church serving on Church Council and many committees.
Kara Orians
Board Member since 2025
Kara Orians has served on the Wyandot Senior Village Board since 2025 and brings more than 23 years of experience in long-term care, along with specialized education in dementia care. She is passionate about supporting older adults, advocating for residents and families, and promoting compassionate, person-centered care within senior communities.
Outside of her professional life, Kara enjoys spending time with her husband and their son. In her free time, she loves reading, baking sourdough bread, and caring for her many houseplants.

Matt Orians, CPA, CVA
Board Member since 2025
Matt has been with Mizick Miller since 2009. He graduated from Upper Sandusky High School and the Ohio State University and became a certified public accountant in 2003 and a certified valuation analyst in 2012. Matt is vice president and a shareholder of Mizick Miller. Matt is the treasurer of the United Way of North Central Ohio, financial secretary of the Knights of Columbus #2050, and serves on the board of Wyandot Senior Village. If you are looking for Matt and he isn’t in the office, you’ll find him on one of the areas golf courses or ball fields, or at home with his wife, Minda, and sons, Noah and Evan.
